CareBeam is an AI-powered clinical automation platform transforming how healthcare practices generate documentation, codes, and EHR data. We’re a small, fast-moving team building essential infra at the intersection of AI and healthcare.

We’re seeking a Software Engineer who wants real ownership, ships constantly, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You will own meaningful parts of the product from day one and collaborate directly with the founder.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with Python and/or Node.js on the backend.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs, including with third-party systems.
• Experience working with LLMs in production—prompt engineering, output validation.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.
• Based in NYC and able to work from our Union Square office.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining EHR integrations across platforms such as athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, ModMed, and Epic.
• Developing and improving our AI pipeline for clinical note generation, chart auditing, and automated order drafting.
• Prompt engineering and eval harnesses to ensure reliable LLM outputs at scale.
• API development and maintenance across our web app, mobile app, and partner integrations.
• Performance improvements and bug fixes across the stack as we scale.

Software Engineer — CareBeam (NYC)

CareBeam is an AI-powered clinical automation platform used by healthcare practices across the country. We turn clinical conversations into structured documentation, billing codes, and EHR data automatically — so providers spend less time on paperwork and more time with patients. We’re a small, fast-moving team building serious infrastructure at the intersection of AI and healthcare.

We’re looking for a software engineer who wants real ownership, ships constantly, and is comfortable moving fast with AI tooling.

What you’ll work on

• Building and maintaining EHR integrations across platforms like athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, ModMed, and Epic
• Developing and improving our AI pipeline for clinical note generation, chart auditing, and automated order drafting
• Prompt engineering and eval harnesses to make LLM outputs consistent and reliable at scale
• API development and maintenance across our web app, mobile app, and partner integrations
• Performance improvements and bug fixes across the stack as we scale

What we’re looking for

• Comfortable building and consuming REST APIs, including integrating with third-party platforms and external systems
• Experience working with LLMs in production — prompt engineering, output validation, handling inconsistency
• Self-directed — you don’t need hand-holding to figure out a problem
• Based in NYC and able to work from our Union Square office
• Comfortable with the pace and hours of an early-stage startup — we work hard and move fast
