Job summary

Career Techniques is seeking a senior software engineer in Melville, NY to lead the development of software from inception to deployment. You will architect scalable, reliable solutions and collaborate with multiple teams to drive transformational changes across platforms.

You will apply expertise in microservices, RESTful services, and AI-enabled development, optimize performance, and mentor teammates while embracing agile practices.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of production coding experience with OO programming (C# and/or Java).
• Experience developing with AI (Claude Code, Agent OS, Spec Driven development).
• SOA/microservices, advanced database schemas, relational and non-relational databases, scalable web services.
• Ability to context switch and manage multiple priorities.
• Hands-on experience building RESTful Web Services.
• Experience with microservices.
• Experience with SQL, Hibernate, and multiple DBs (MySQL, Oracle, Postgres).
• Experience with NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Experience with automated testing (TDD, Mocking, unit/integration).
• Experience with version control and CI tools (Maven, Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Crucible, Jira).
• Experience with messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Experience with multiple programming/scripting languages.
• Extensive experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, SAFE).

What You Will Bring

• Have some demonstratable experience developing with AI, Claude Code, Agent OS, Spec Driven development.
• Expertise in Service-oriented architectures, microservices, advanced database schemas, relational and nonrelational databases, highly scalable and available web services.
• The ability to context shift and manage multiple priorities at the same time.
• Hands-on experience in building RESTful Web Services.
• Experienced with microservices.
• Prior experience using SQL, Hibernate, and one or more DB (MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, etc)
• Prior experience using NoSQL. (Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc)
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (TDD, Mocking, Unit/Functional/Integration)
• Experience with various version control systems, defining code branching strategies and build processes.
• Experience with development and CI tools: maven, git, Jenkins, Puppet, Crucible, Jira.
• Experience working with messaging systems. (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Experience with a variety of different programming/scripting languages.
• Extensive experience with Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum or SAFE.

Compensation: $145-155K
