Aquila Technology is recruiting a Software Engineer to support a premier defense research organization. The role focuses on building and securing AI-enabled infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.

Ideal candidates will automate, deploy and optimize Linux-based systems, containers, and serverless components while ensuring reliability and security of mission-critical operations. On-site presence within 100 miles of Lexington, MA is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 3+ years delivering functional systems on tight schedules.
• 3+ years automation development using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• 3+ years AWS (EC2, S3) development and deployment and cloud computing.
• 3+ years Linux system administration, scripting, and troubleshooting.
• 3+ years containerization with Docker/Kubernetes and Artifactory.

Responsibilities

• Support defense research infrastructure with emphasis on reliability, scalability and security.
• Develop automation to streamline deployment and operation of on-prem and cloud resources.

Software Engineer

Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain an Active Secret Clearance - Must be US Citizen due to the nature of the work.

Work Location: Must live 100 miles of Lexington, MA even though this position is virtual. Must be able to come on-site for mission critical work.

About the Role:

Aquila Technology is seeking Software Engineerto support one of the nation’s premier defense research organizations. The team provides the infrastructure, tools, and support needed to enable the company's staff to effectively leverage a broad range of AI technologies. The team advances AI capabilities across the organization, ensuring access to emerging technologies that enhance productivity, foster innovation, and support the organizations mission.The team is looking for a Solutions Engineer with a focus on Enterprise AI technologies to join our team. This role provides an opportunity for a motivated technical candidate who is looking to play a key role in enhancing the reliability, scalability and security of our on-prem and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will leverage their system administration, automation, and development skills to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Must Have

• Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree
• 3 years - Independently solve technical problems and deliver functional systems on tight schedules
• 3 years - Developing automation solutions using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting
• 3 years - Work Well Independently as well as with a Team
• 3 years - AWS (EC2, S3)

Our Perks Include:

Tuition & Training Reimbursement- 5K annually for pre-approved, Eligible full-time team members who have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment may apply for tuition reimbursement for approved, job-related courses taken through an accredited college or university. Team members must achieve a grade of “B” or better to qualify for reimbursement.Aquila will reimburse up to $5,000 per fiscal year for tuition expenses only. Expenses related to training programs, certifications, books, materials, meals, transportation, or other non-tuition costs are not eligible under the Tuition Reimbursement Program. All tuition reimbursement requests must be submitted to and approved by the team member’s Manager prior to course registration. Reimbursement will be issued upon successful course completion and submission of final grades and proof of payment.

Catch-up contribution limit- $8,000

Cell Phone & Internet Reimbursed up to $150 monthly to cover cell phone, data, and home internet expenses. Aquila Technology will reimburse team members who work from home ONLY for cell phone/mobile device fees for work-related communications and/or operations each month. Employees eligible for this benefit must work remote 2 days a week or more to qualify.

Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) -Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. Electronic devices eligible under the Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) program are limited to cell phones, laptops, and tablets.
