Kratos Defense & Security Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to join the OpenSpace development team. You will contribute to a web-based full-stack Agile Development Team, developing, debugging, and delivering software for readiness delivered.

The role emphasizes Java, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, RESTful services, and cloud familiarity (AWS or Azure). You will collaborate using Jira and Confluence in a SAFe environment to ship high‑quality software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and RESTful services.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiar with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with build pipelines (Bamboo) and cloud (AWS or Azure).
• Experience in SAFe Agile with Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products.
• Develop unit-level tests that ensure the work product is of high quality.
• Author software documentation for both internal and customer use.
• Review peer contributions as part of code reviews.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of relevant programming experience.
• Software development in Java.
• General knowledge with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with RESTful services.
• Basic understanding of web‑based technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Build pipeline automation and packaging using tools such as Bamboo.
• General cloud knowledge with AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with working in a SAFe Agile environment using Atlassian suite of tools such as Jira and Confluence or other similar collaboration tools.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Expert software development experience in Java, C, and C++.
• Experience with multi‑threaded or real‑time applications.
• Experience with QuestDB.
• Experience developing unit tests with tools such as SonarQube or other code coverage tools.
• Expert knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher.
• Secure software development experience and implementation of best practices.
• Experience with Satellite Command and Control systems.
