Job summary

VT Group (VTG) is seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Hanover, Maryland. In this critical role, you will support customer missions through the full life-cycle development of Radio Frequency Processing Systems. Candidates are expected to leverage their technical knowledge and problem-solving skills across various programming languages.

With a focus on improving processes and creating high-availability systems, this position requires a bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience, along with TS/SCI clearance. Familiarity with modern web development tools like VueJS or React is a plus.

Overview

VTG is looking for an experienced and adaptive Software Engineer to join our team. This position will support a mission-focused customer during the full life-cycle development of a Radio Frequency Processing System.

What will you do?

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
• Debug existing software and correct defects using a variety of programming languages (Examples: Java, Python, Rust, C++)
• Create and maintain a scalable, high-availability, mission system using modern system design principles
• Create Docker containers and/or Kubernetes pods and clusters
• Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
• Design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
• Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
• Generate automation scripts to improve workflow and efficiency

Required Qualifications
