Job summary

Topgolf is seeking a Software Engineer to power the guest experience by building backend services in Go and front-end applications in Vue.js. This role spans the stack, from API design to UI implementation, using AI-assisted development practices to deliver reliable features.

You will design, build, test, and maintain services, collaborate with product, design, QA, and other engineers, and help monitor and improve production systems including logging and alerts.

Qualifications

• 3+ Years - Professional software engineering experience
• 2+ Years - Building backend services in Go
• 2+ Years - Building front-end applications with Vue.js
• 1+ Years - Working with AI-assisted development tools in a professional setting

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Go
• Build and maintain responsive, user-facing features and components using Vue.js
• Define and implement API contracts between front-end and backend services
• Write and maintain automated tests to ensure code quality and reliability across the stack
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with product, design, QA, and other engineers to uphold engineering best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, contributing to logging, monitoring, and alerting practices
• Practice spec-driven development, writing clear technical specs and design docs to guide implementation before writing code
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, and code review while maintaining code quality

The Software Engineer helps power the technology behind the Topgolf guest experience, building backend services in Go and front-end applications in Vue.js that support our venues and digital products. This role works across the stack, from writing clear specs through API design and user interface implementation, using AI-assisted development practices to deliver reliable, well-tested features as part of a collaborative engineering team.

Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Go

Build and maintain responsive, user-facing features and components using Vue.js

Define and implement API contracts (REST and/or event-driven interfaces) between front-end and backend services

Write and maintain automated tests to ensure code quality and reliability across the stack

Participate in code reviews and collaborate with product, design, QA, and other engineers to uphold engineering best practices

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, contributing to logging, monitoring, and alerting practices

Practice spec-driven development, writing clear technical specs and design docs to guide implementation before writing code

Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate implementation, testing, and code review while maintaining code quality

Experience:

3+ Years - Professional software engineering experience

2+ Years - Building backend services in Go

2+ Years - Building front-end applications with Vue.js

1+ Years - Working with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) in a professional setting
