Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Software Engineer on the EAA Compliance CXAE team based in Charlotte, NC to develop AI-first tools and services for CX compliance agents, delivering end-to-end features using Golang and React.

You will collaborate with product, design, security, and data teams, deploy in AWS/Kubernetes, mentor peers, and help scale high-traffic workflows while maintaining rigorous compliance standards. This role requires being in Charlotte and not eligible for fully remote work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience building web applications.
• Experience with backend languages (Golang, Python, Java) and a frontend framework (React, Angular, Vue).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized deployments (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with distributed systems concepts such as caching and event-driven architectures.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of user-facing features across the compliance agent platform using Golang, React, and cloud technologies, from design through production deployment.
• Lead assessment, selection, and implementation of third‑party tools and vendor integrations that extend platform capabilities and accelerate delivery.
• Partner with product, design, security, and data teams to deliver cross-functional solutions to complex compliance and CX problems.
• Build and maintain scalable, high-traffic services leveraging event‑driven architectures, caching, load balancing, and observability tooling across AWS and Kubernetes.
• Mentor engineers on design patterns, coding standards, testing strategies, and deployment best practices to raise the overall quality bar for the team.

Software Engineer - Compliance CXAE (Charlotte, NC)

As a Software Engineer on the EAA Compliance CXAE team within the Platform group, you'll build the AI-first applications and services that power how CX Compliance agents work every day. This team is responsible for the platforms, tools, and integrations that streamline compliance processes, helping agents resolve customer issues and KYC workflows faster, with greater accuracy, and at scale. You'll own full-stack feature delivery across Golang and React, ship third-party integrations, and directly improve the productivity and compliance experience for millions of Coinbase customers.

This role requires you to be based in Charlotte, NC and is not eligible for fully remote work.

Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):

$152,405 — $179,300 USD
