The role involves analyzing business needs, designing and developing software programs and interfaces to support administrative applications across the MSU four-campus system. The engineer provides technical support for enterprise systems by testing, troubleshooting, and resolving problems, collaborating closely with IT staff and various university departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications supporting Finance, Student Services, and Human Resources modules.
• Create custom applications, integrations with third-party systems, and automated processes to meet business requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and respond to support requests for enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with technical peers, business partners, and vendors including code reviews and deployment coordination.
• Position supports the MSU four-campus ERP systems, particularly Ellucian Banner running on Oracle; works within the University IT Enterprise Services Group.

Qualifications

• Experience with relational databases and SQL; programming in procedural or object-oriented languages.
• Preferred skills include Oracle databases, PL/SQL, source control (GIT), and web technologies such as Node.js, React, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems is preferred.
• Candidate should demonstrate strong communication, initiative, judgment, and customer service abilities.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range of $72,540 to $79,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
