Job summary

Apogee Engineering seeks a Software Engineer to support the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, C2 Division, at Offutt AFB, NE. Regular full-time, on-site position requiring US citizenship and Top Clearance for SCI/NC2/ESI and ACCM.

Responsibilities include documenting designs, performing SQA, and contributing to an agile team. Desired background covers DoD software, planning, testing, and experience with NPES-related systems. On-site work with no travel.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: US citizen with Top Clearance eligibility for SCI, NC2/ESI, and ACCM.
• Education: High School Diploma; minimum 15 years relevant DoD software experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree; minimum 10 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze documentation including planning, requirements, design, support, and test artifacts.
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating requirements, solution options, and proposed fixes.
• Document and demonstrate software solutions with diagrams, comments, and clear code.
• Improve operations via systems analysis and policy/procedure recommendations.
• Provide SME on nuclear command and control planning; train and evaluate USSTRATCOM directorates.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize development and service issues to inform stakeholders.
• Perform Software Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate in an agile team; elaborate features into detailed designs; perform validation and coding tasks; conduct peer reviews.

Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Software Engineer in support of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, Command and Control (C2) Division (AFNWC/NCC).

This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, and analyze a variety of documentation: Planning, requirements, design, support, and test. Also, to include source code, configuration files, and engineering resolution support.
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
• Improve operations by conducting systems analysis, recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Deliver Subject Matter Expertise on the nuclear command and control planning process, instructing and evaluating USSTRATCOM directorates.
• Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
• Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure that developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications.
• Work as a member of an agile software development team. Performing some mix of the following tasks as directed by the government team lead or engineering lead.
  • Elaborate high-level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users and government lead engineers.
  • Perform data validation, verification, and corrections.
  • Perform coding tasks for functional and performance tests for features/functions.
  • Perform peer design and code reviews with other team members.
  • Perform other software engineering and documentation tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must possess a Top Clearance security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Nuclear Command and Control/Extremely Sensitive Information (NC2/ESI), and Alternative or Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM)
Education: High School Diploma
Years of Experience: Minimum of 15 years relevant experience to include:

• 5 years supporting DoD
• Agile Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E) and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) of NPES and NPES-related software. NPES testing includes scenario database preparation, creation and documentation of test plans and procedures, user story traceability, test tool recommendations, test jigs, data, etc
• Provide the Government with an analysis of the operational impact of the system and software engineering proposed changes to NPES and NPES-related systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree
Years of Experience: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience

• 3 years supporting the DoD
• Demonstrated experience supporting USSTRATCOM weapon systems and/or capabilities
