Job Title: Software Engineer (Guidewire)

What Is the Opportunity?
  • Our client is seeking a Software Engineer I to join the organization as we grow and transform our technology landscape.
  • The Software Engineer I will serve as an engineer during the execution and implementation phases of a Guidewire-based application.
  • The Software Engineer will complete intermediate end-to-end engineering tasks for specific system assignments, including developing, analyzing, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documenting, health monitoring/alerting, and implementing based on user or system design specifications. They will also participate in troubleshooting, impact analysis, and escalation as needed.
What Will You Do?
  • Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions, as well as define technical requirements for assignments of intermediate complexity.
  • Participate with the team to analyze, assess, and resolve defects and incidents of intermediate complexity, escalating appropriately.
  • Work within team guidelines to independently tackle well-scoped problems.
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Three years of programming/development experience preferred, including hands-on experience with Guidewire.
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies and/or Java is highly desired.
  • Delivery Skills: Intermediate delivery skills, including the ability to deliver work steadily and predictably, decompose work into small releases, and contribute to tradeoff discussions.
  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of technical concepts, willingness to collaborate, and in-depth knowledge of the systems worked on.
  • Problem Solving: Proven debugging skills, ability to identify issues in unfamiliar code, and to recognize and solve repetitive problems. Ability to learn from mistakes and break down large problems.
  • Communication: Strong ability to communicate clearly, document work effectively, collaborate with team members, clarify requirements, and accept constructive criticism.
  • Leadership: Intermediate leadership skills with a track record of self-motivation and personal growth.
