Sponsored Products helps merchants, retail vendors, and brand owners succeed via native advertising that grows incremental sales of their products sold through Amazon.

Responsibilities

• Own technical vision and direction: identify and mitigate risks, construct project schedules, and prepare status reports; embrace performance metrics and measurement techniques to assess how well system-related services are running.
• Build and grow your team: build an engineering team that delivers results; coach individuals, lead technical discussions, recruit, establish processes, and mentor future leaders; embody Amazon leadership principles.
• Collaborate on product direction: maintain strong relationships between engineering and partner disciplines (Applied Science, Product, User Experience, QA) to deliver the right product for customers.
• Lead beyond your team: contribute to the broader engineering leadership community; share best practices and drive technology decisions across the organization.
• Own your own shop: ensure operational excellence for services reaching hundreds of millions of customers; responsible for running and maintaining the systems your team builds.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting systems for reliability and scalability
• 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
• Knowledge of full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and live-site operations
• Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, and inform product strategy

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with online model inference infrastructure and LLM optimization
