Job summary

Capital Group in Southern California is seeking a Senior Manager for Portfolio Construction to lead the Tools and Insights capabilities within RAPC. You will guide an engineering organization that helps investment professionals understand portfolio positioning, evaluate risks, and model actions with confidence.

You will coach engineers, decide roadmaps, and partner with Product and investment professionals to align priorities.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems, cloud architecture, APIs, testing, observability, security.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve RAPC's Tools and Insights strategy with Product and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a clear roadmap balancing investor value, technical sustainability, and organizational capacity.
  • Lead engineering execution across a portfolio of investor-facing tools and insights.
  • Use agile and metrics-driven engineering practices to improve delivery, health, and accountability.
  • Establish operating mechanisms to provide visibility into roadmap progress, capacity, delivery health, risks, and outcomes.

As the Senior Manager for Portfolio Construction, you will lead the engineering organization responsible for the Tools and Insights capabilities within Risk-Aware Portfolio Construction (RAPC). You will serve as both a strategic leader and a hands-\u2011on engineering coach, responsible for shaping the roadmap, developing talent, improving execution, and ensuring the organization delivers reliable, scalable solutions that create meaningful value for investors. You will partner closely with Product, investment professionals, and engineering leaders across IG Tech to align priorities, translate strategy into execution, and continuously evolve the capability.

You will strengthen operational excellence, modernize engineering practices, improve delivery predictability, and create the architectural foundations needed to support future growth. Southern California Base Salary Range: $234,276-$398,269New York Base Salary Range: $248,365-$422,221Seattle Base Salary Range: $234,276-$398,269


In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
