As the manager on Checkout, you will be part of the core engineering team at Amazon building the underlying checkout platform used by hundreds of millions of customers across the world every day. You will be directly responsible for the availability of the platform and the latency of the checkout experience, holding the highest standards to ensure that changes from software builders do not regress performance for customers. You will collaborate closely with product and program management teams to translate customer needs into technical priorities and deliver results. You will also change how the team operates by championing AI-native development practices that accelerate velocity and improve quality. A successful Software Development Manager should be highly autonomous with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze quantitatively, scope technical requirements, effectively prioritize program deliverables, and communicate clearly. The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
