Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Software Development Manager to establish and lead teams building new systems from scratch within AWS Connect.

You will work closely with senior technical leaders to coordinate feature development across teams and ensure new functionality aligns with the broader AWS services roadmap. You will drive a culture of operational excellence, security, customer focus, and continuous improvement while mentoring engineers and guiding architectural decisions for scalable cloud

As a software development manager on our team you'll help to establish teams developing new systems from scratch working closely with senior technical leaders within the team and across AWS. You'll coordinate feature development across teams ensuring new functionality fits into the broader slate of AWS services. You'll drive a culture that values operational excellence security customer focus and continuous improvement.

A day in the life

You will start your morning reviewing operational dashboards and system health metrics before joining your team's stand-up to unblock engineers and align on priorities. Throughout the day, you will participate in design reviews, partner with product managers to refine upcoming features, and hold one-on-one coaching sessions with your direct reports. You will also contribute to strategic planning documents, engage in cross-team technical discussions, and carve out time to stay connected to the details of your team's architecture and code.
