In this role, you will have the autonomy and influence to shape core features of Amazon's brand marketing tech ecosystem with PE, Director, VP, and S-team level exposure for your work. Our products hold strategic significance in Amazon's global marketing investment strategies. We leverage data and innovative technologies to solve difficult business problems at Amazon's scale. If you are passionate about Big Data, Distributed Systems, AI/ML, AI/MLOps and want to grow and influence in these fields, this is the perfect role for you.

To be successful in this role, you must be a strong individual contributor who thrives on earning trust through hands-on technical expertise and sound business judgment.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own software features end-to-end, from requirements clarification through design, implementation, deployment, and operation
  • Write clear, well-structured design documents and participate actively in design reviews, both as author and reviewer
  • Deliver high-quality production code that meets team standards, requires minimal re-review, and is built to be maintainable
  • Partner with PMT, Science, and business stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requirements and translate business goals into technical scope
  • Identify and mitigate immediate risks in your work; proactively raise concerns about cross-team dependencies, edge cases, and operational gaps
  • Contribute to team operational excellence: integration tests on every change, monitoring and alerting for the systems you own, runbooks for the on-call rotation, and Sev-2 reduction
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for services your team owns, including weekend and after-hours response when required
  • Mentor SDE-I engineers and new hires; provide constructive code review feedback that develops your peers
  • Continuously simplify code and resolve component-level architectural deficiencies as you encounter them
  • Stay current with the team's tech stack and contribute to technology decisions within your scope
