Job summary

Amazon Annapurna Labs is seeking a Software Development Engineer for ML Systems in Annapurna Labs, NY. You will tackle challenging technical problems across the stack, designing and delivering software to boost performance, durability, and security for AWS customers.

The role requires 3+ years in software development and 2+ years in design/architecture, plus hands-on Generative AI experience. You will work with a cross-functional team on a startup-like environment within AWS UC and AWS Neuron,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.

About Amazon Annapurna Labs: Amazon Annapurna Labs team (our organization within AWS UC) is responsible for building innovation in silicon and software for our AWS customers. We are at the forefront of innovation by combining cloud scale with the world’s most talented engineers. Our team covers multiple disciplines including silicon engineering, hardware design, software and operations. A day in the life

As you design and code solutions to help our team drive efficiencies in software architecture, you’ll create metrics, implement automation and other improvements, and resolve the root cause of software defects.

• Build high‑impact solutions to deliver to our large customer base.
• Participate in design discussions, code review, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work cross‑functionally to help drive business decisions with your technical input. You will collaborate closely with a cross‑functional team comprised of compiler, hardware, and ML engineers.
• Work in a startup‑like development environment, where you’re always working on the most important stuff.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Hands‑on technical experience working on the Generative AI space.
• 1+ years in machine learning or other computational modeling environments with an emphasis on building and optimizing models for diverse hardware platforms.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
