Job summary

Leo Commerce is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and operate critical e‑Commerce software across AWS infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineers to gather requirements, implement best practices, and build automated tests and dashboards for reliability.

The role requires 3+ years of professional software development, with experience in distributed systems and OO design.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in design or architecture of large-scale systems.
• 1+ year of SDE or related experience.
• 1+ year of designing multi-tiered or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ year of OO design experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience programming with at least one language.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate e‑Commerce software.
• Develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for system health.

Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

Key job responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers across the organization to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate critical e‑Commerce software for Leo.
• Work on initiatives building e‑Commerce functions on AWS infrastructure and help implement best practices for software development.
• Develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for monitoring health of systems.
• Help engineers and build solutions which are required for provisioning and operating an Internet service providers.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
