Staffing Spot, Inc. seeks a Senior QA Automation Engineer in Minneapolis to design and implement scalable automation for web, API, mobile, and backend systems.

You will build frameworks, write scripts in Java/Python/JS/TS, and drive quality across the SDLC with CI/CD integration and robust test reporting. The role requires 7+ years in QA automation, strong programming, and hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, and REST Assured.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in software testing, QA automation, or SDET roles.
Strong programming experience in at least one language such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
Strong hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation frameworks.
Strong experience with API testing and automation.
Experience designing and developing automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing ones.
Strong understanding of OOP, data structures, and programming fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and backend applications.
Develop automated test scripts using languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
Create and maintain UI automation using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
Develop comprehensive API automation using tools/frameworks such as REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent.
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
Identify, troubleshoot, and root-cause application and automation failures.
Collaborate with developers to improve testability, code quality, and overall product reliability.
Perform database/backend validation using SQL and appropriate database tools.
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on automation and test architecture.
Implement test reporting, logging, screenshots, and failure diagnostics to improve automation visibility.
Identify opportunities to increase automation coverage and reduce manual testing effort.
Mentor junior QA/SDET engineers and contribute to automation best practices.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Work with engineering teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
