Amazon's Analytics ADC Developer Experience team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to deliver AWS Agentic AI cloud services in classified environments. You will design and implement scalable solutions, collaborating with government customers in GovCloud and US ADC regions, while maintaining high standards of reliability and performance.

The Analytics ADC Developer Experience team is at the forefront of delivering AWS Agentic AI cloud services to our customers in classified environments. We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this rapidly evolving field, leveraging the power of cloud computing and the latest advancements in data technologies. With a focus on expanding Agentic AI services across US ADC and GovCloud regions, driving automation investments, and delivering open-source solutions, we are at the forefront of modernization.

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer who can think big and simplify solutions to complex problems, all while ensuring our customers continue to have the best experience possible.

A successful Software Development Engineer joining the team will be an innovator, building solutions and working closely with Amazon's largest and most demanding government customers to address their specific needs across a suite of services in classified environments. They will drive the resolution of technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience.

A day in the life

As a Software Development Engineer, you will build innovative solutions, expand services to meet the demands of US government customers, and improve our operations to provide resiliency and the best experience for our customers. You influence technical strategy and architectural decisions within the team and with partner teams, make data‑driven decisions, and bring best practices in operational and engineering excellence by actively contributing to ticket resolution, infrastructure improvements, and service deployments. Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership on Bias for Action, Invent and Simplify, Insist on the Highest Standards, and Deliver Results.

Qualifications

  • Strong Linux and networking fundamentals, deep experience working in large‑scale, distributed environments, and a track record of thorough troubleshooting and post‑mortem analysis.
  • Strong software engineering skills, with proven design, architecture, and debugging abilities in complex systems.
  • A passion for solving problems, with solid knowledge of systems design, operations, automation, and process improvement.
  • Ability to work on projects that build and deploy solutions across GovCloud and US ADC regions, improving and streamlining processes at scale.
  • Experience with multiple programming languages (Java, Python, C#, C++, Perl, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead cross‑functional discussions.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
  • 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • 1+ year designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications and services (using C#, C++, Java, Perl, or similar).
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $143,700.00 – $194,400.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance, Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
