A day in the life

You will work at the intersection of software engineering, data analytics, and AI. On a given day, you might build a new visualization component for the leadership dashboard, develop an AI agent that automates a weekly status report, write a data pipeline that merges vulnerability metrics from multiple upstream systems, or design an MCP service that enables other teams to integrate with your reporting platform. You will partner closely with security engineers, data engineers, and program managers across AVMS to ensure leadership has a trusted, unified, and timely view of the organization’s vulnerability posture.

The DIF team operates with a startup mentality inside a large organization. You will have direct impact on the product direction and will see your work in front of senior security leadership. The team values rapid iteration, creative problem-solving, and high-quality engineering.

About the team

The Discovery Insights Foundry (DIF) is a team within Amazon Vulnerability Management Services (AVMS). Our mission is to provide trusted, standardized, and actionable security metrics and insights that enable AVMS leadership, domain teams, and compliance partners to make timely, data-driven decisions at Amazon scale. We serve as the authoritative layer between raw security data and the people who consume it.

Tech stack

Java, Python, TypeScript/React, AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, Step Functions, QuickSight, Bedrock, SageMaker), data pipeline tooling, and generative AI frameworks. Experience with any of these is a plus but not required for all.

Diverse Experiences

Amazon Security values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.
