Job summary

Amazon Leo Commerce is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Customer Engagement Systems team and build telecom applications powering how customers order, activate, and manage broadband subscriptions for a global satellite network.

You will design and implement telecom components, collaborate with Satellite, Networks, and Security teams, and contribute to a reliable, scalable system with full lifecycle responsibility, including reviews, testing, deployment, and operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Amazon Leo Commerce is Amazon's initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites that deliver low-latency, high-speed connectivity worldwide. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Customer Engagement Systems team and build the telecom applications and services that power how customers order, activate, and manage their broadband subscriptions.

Key job responsibilities

A day in the life

You will spend your time designing and building services that enable customers to subscribe to and interact with a global satellite broadband network. On a given day you might be whiteboarding a new data model with a teammate, reviewing pull requests, or collaborating with the Networks team on an integration point. You will balance heads-down coding with cross-team design discussions and operational readiness activities.

About the team

Our team owns the architecture and roadmap for managing the customer ordering and billing lifecycle, subscriber management services, customer notifications, and customer metrics and analytics for Amazon Leo Commerce. We are a collaborative group building systems from the ground up to support a global telecom service, and we work closely with Satellite, Networks, and Security engineering teams to bring broadband connectivity to communities around the world.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
