Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is hiring for embedded software engineers to help build the Amazon Leo satellite platform. You will develop in Rust, C, C++, and other modern languages, write device drivers, and contribute to Linux kernel/RTOS features.

The role involves cross-team collaboration for board bring-up and security features, with a base salary range of 143,700 to 194,400 USD per year and comprehensive benefits.

Description

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. Key job responsibilities

• Develop embedded software in Rust, C, C++, or other modern languages.
• Write device drivers and system applications for the various satellite systems and device interfaces like I2C, SPI, CAN etc.
• Develop Linux Kernel / RTOS features
• Develop security features for satellite systems.
• Work closely with other software and hardware teams to support board bring-up and integration.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
