Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) is hiring a Software Development Engineer to deliver container orchestration and accelerate cloud adoption from Seattle. You will work on ECS and Fargate, tackling distributed systems challenges and operating in a customer-centric product environment.

You should thrive in Linux environments, analyze large data sets, and contribute to architecture decisions while delivering reliable, scalable software with strong coding practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new/existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) is a fully managed container orchestration service that helps you easily deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications. The ECS team develops features that impact thousands of users and customers both internally and externally!

Amazon ECS is looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to deliver our container orchestration service and accelerate adoption of containers in the cloud. This role includes responsibility for ECS and Fargate, our Serverless container compute offering. We are seeking an SDE with strong knowledge of distributed systems. You must enjoy working on complex software systems in a customer-centric environment and be passionate not only about building good software but also ensuring that the same software achieves its goals in operational reality.

A successful candidate will need a strong understanding of software development with Linux, and be comfortable analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources within a distributed network.
