Job summary

Amazon Security is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help build and manage services that detect and mitigate cybersecurity threats across AWS infrastructure, including advanced persistent threats. You’ll work with security engineers, data scientists, and other software development engineers across multiple teams to build innovative security solutions at a massive scale.

You’ll get to use the full power of AWS technologies to protect every AWS customer.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of design/architecture experience for scalable systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer experience.
• Experience programming with at least one language.
• Knowledge of Python and/or C++.

As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you’ll help build and manage services that detect and automate the mitigation of cybersecurity threats across Amazon’s infrastructure, including advanced persistent threats. You’ll work with security engineers, data scientists, and other software development engineers across multiple teams to develop innovative security solutions at a massive scale. Our services protect the AWS cloud for all customers and help preserve our customers’ trust in us. You’ll get to use the full power and breadth of AWS technologies to build services that proactively protect every single AWS customer, both internally and externally, from security threats – not many teams can say that!

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Knowledge of Python and/or C++ programming

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Experience with large-scale data analytics and data warehousing
• Experience processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (hundreds of millions/billions of rows) of data
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS
