Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented software development engineer to design and build customer facing cross-domain cloud services. The role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

You will join a team focused on moving data between AWS regions and accounts with varying security requirements, and you will sponsor a commensurate clearance for government work.

Qualifications

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented software development engineer to design and build customer facing cross-domain cloud services. The AWS Cross Domain Services team provides solutions for customers to move data between AWS regions and accounts with differing security requirements. On this team you will invent new data transfer capabilities and launch them for use by AWS customers.

Our engineering teams are supported by product managers, program managers, and principal engineers who you will engage with regularly.

This position requires that the candidate selected must be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• 4+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
• Experience building or optimizing UDP-based data transport systems for high-throughput, low-latency workloads, with understanding of packet loss mitigation strategies
• Experience building data transfer or routing systems that prioritize resiliency, reliability, and availability in environments where intermediary infrastructure may be capacity-constrained or subject to outages
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
