Amazon Velocity Labs in Seattle is looking for a Software Development Engineer to design and build AI primitives and user-facing services. You will ship features from concept to rollout, craft system designs, and work with a team that uses AI-enabled tooling to deliver high-quality cloud solutions.

You will collaborate across disciplines, applying strong coding, design, and reliability practices to solve complex challenges and impact AWS customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new or existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered software applications.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS, Engineering, Math, or related field.
• Experience programming in at least one software language.

As a Software Development Engineer in our team, you will be responsible for designing and building AI primitives and user-facing services in a fast paced environment. You will ship features from concept to design to implementation and through to roll‑out and support.

In this role, you will follow best practices of software development to ensure project schedules are met and software quality is high. You will create and review system designs and work with the team to build the service. You will actively participate in the team's planning and brainstorming to help us shape the future direction of our products. Basic Qualifications

• - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• - 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• - 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• - 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• - Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
