WEX is hiring for a remote engineer role that requires residing within 30 miles of Portland, ME; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; or Seattle, WA. You will join a small, high-performing team delivering cloud-based microservices and modern web applications for a payments platform.

The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and strong communication while navigating a highly regulated payments environment.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or coding bootcamp with one year of work/internship experience (preferable).
• Experience working with a team on a project.
• Working understanding of at least one modern web framework.
• Experience with Java, C#, or TypeScript.

• Pick up new technology and switch between tech stacks with a minimum of fuss
• Are comfortable working on front-end web code, back-end services, data stores, and infrastructure systems
• Are a solid architect/designer
• Have experience writing modern software deployed in the cloud
• Are comfortable with encryption schemes, modern APIs, and front-end frameworks
• Have worked on agile teams to deliver software iteratively

Experience You’ll Bring

• Have a BS in an engineering field OR coding bootcamp certification with one year of work/internship experience (preferable)
• Have experience working with a team on a project
• A demonstrable working understanding of at least one modern web framework
• Have experience with one of the following languages: Java, C#, TypeScript

It Would Be Nice If You

• Have familiarity with Salesforce
• Can show us one or more passion projects or open-source work you have contributed to in your own time
• Have experience with JavaScript
• Have experience with at least one cloud platform

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
