Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable software services. You will participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and iterative product development while ensuring system health on AWS.

Work with Flask-based APIs, Docker containers, and Kubernetes in AWS, maintaining both SQL and NoSQL databases. Join a collaborative, fast-paced team focused on cutting-edge geospatial technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 1+ years of professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience developing applications in Python and/or C++.
• Experience building service-oriented architectures and API-driven applications using Flask or similar frameworks.
• Experience deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes in AWS environments.
• Strong understanding of Docker containerization technologies.
• Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, SQL, and NoSQL.
• Understanding of software operations, monitoring, debugging, and maintaining healthy production systems.
• Familiarity with Agile software engineering practices and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
• Knowledge of geospatial, geodesic, photogrammetric, or remote sensing technologies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented with a willingness to work closely with technical systems and processes.

Pay Transparency

To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.

• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $86,000.00 - $115,000.00 - $126,500.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
