Job summary

VTG is seeking a Software Engineer to support Entitlement Programs with IdAM/ICAM, authentication, and digital policy management. You will develop in Java and Angular, leverage Elasticsearch, and modernize legacy apps within an Agile team environment.

Required: active TS/SCI with Poly, BS degree and 6–10 years of relevant experience, plus strong AWS, Java, Spring Boot, and Angular (Typescript) skills. Hybrid team collaboration and secure delivery are emphasized.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a related field and 6–10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot and Angular (Typescript) experience.
• Experience with AWS, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modernize legacy applications.
• Develop Java and Angular components leveraging Elasticsearch.
• Write scripts to install and configure code on EC2 instances.
• Build RESTful APIs and integrate with AWS services.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and teamwork.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices.
• Perform unit testing, code reviews, and automated testing (Selenium).
• Work with Git, Jenkins, and Rundeck for deployment automation.

Overview VTG is seeking a Software Engineer for a 200+ FTE technical development program supporting the Sponsor's Entitlement Programs as well as IdAM /ICAM, Authentication, Authorization, Attributes and Digital Policy Management. The Software Engineer will work with a large team of developers, software engineers and data engineers. The successful candidate will support continuity of our customer's mission by helping to modernize and implement industry standards while ensuring secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of IT systems

What will you do?

• Comfort and familiarity in maintaining legacy applications
• Experience in modernization of legacy applications
• Ability to write custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instances
• Experience leveraging Amazon Web Services
• Experience creating RESTful API
• Experience with spring boot
• Develop Java and Angular (Typescript) that leverage Elasticsearch
• Comfort and familiarity designing and utilizing custom ETL methodology
• Strong communication, design, and documentation skills
• Strong time and workflow management skills
• Comfort and familiarity in unit testing, peer code review, and automated testing techniques like Selenium (create, edit, maintain, execute)
• Work within the parameters of Agile & Scrum methodologies
• Willingness to mentor and teach junior developers' community best practices in a constructive fashion
