Job summary

World Wide Technology is seeking a Software Developer – SME for its Government Services team. You will lead architecture, development, and modernization of enterprise applications across secure environments, ensuring zero-trust and interoperability.

The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on engineering on in-house systems, AI components, and secure delivery across hybrid environments. Onsite in Chantilly, VA or DC region.

Qualifications

• Minimum Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility to access SCI material.
• Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise-scale software solutions.
• Expertise in modern programming languages, software design patterns, and application architectures.
• Strong knowledge of application security, secure coding practices, and software quality assurance.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and enhancement of enterprise applications with architectural frameworks and modernization strategies.
• Provide strategic technical leadership and hands-on engineering to deliver scalable, secure solutions.
• Implement ABAC at the data layer and ensure end-to-end data provenance and traceability.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across UI, backend, databases, and AI components.

What will you be doing?

WWT is seeking a Software Developer – Subject Matter Expert (SME). This individual serves as the principal authority for enterprise software architecture, development standards, application modernization, and secure software delivery across complex environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Software Developer SME will lead the design, development, testing, and enhancement of enterprise applications while establishing architectural frameworks, development best practices, and modernization strategies. The role combines strategic technical leadership with hands-on engineering expertise to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with enterprise objectives, zero-trust principles, and interoperability requirements.

• In-house custom developed application
• Advanced AI, GenAI & Multi-Model Engineering
• Multi-model and multi-modality orchestration (reasoning, perception, memory, tool
• execution)
• Temporal, spatial, geographic, quantitative, and computer vision AI implementation
• Named Entity Recognition (NER), contextual entity extraction, and resolution
• Multi-step retrieval and structured output generation
• Complex data parsing and streamlined ingestion
• Deep source citation and traceable analytic outputs
• Vector, graph, and multi database orchestration
• Automated ETL pipeline creation, scheduling, and optimization

• Expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, containers, and modern application platforms.
• Experience addressing cross-domain or cross-enclave interoperability challenges.
• Knowledge of zero-trust architecture and secure enterprise application development.
• Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, software architecture, Agile, cybersecurity, or DevSecOps.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $170,000.00 to $180,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
