Job description

Job Title: Software Developer - MATLAB, Python & Signal Processing

Duration: 3+ years

Client: Defense Research Lab

Description: Develops application software. Writing and implementing efficient code. Research, designs, develops and implements software applications and systems. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates, designs, and implements interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, cloud offering, system architecture, security, and characteristics of overall system. Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs. Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications. Determining operational practicality. Documents testing, client experience, and maintenance of system corrections. May partner and collaborate with cyber security teams to ensure compliance with security standards. May develop and conduct unit tests.

Background/Need: Group is seeking an engineer to own test tooling development for satellite payload software and hardware.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities involve working closely with a small team to define the software architecture and requirements based on high-level system requirements and the entire design, implementation, and test of the real-time software running in and controlling the hardware

  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Experience in engineering principles, including Fourier transforms, time series analysis, etc. for plotting and analysis purposes

  • Clearance: Interim clearance is sufficient to start. Secret Clearance or above is preferred. TS/SCI is highly preferred.
  • Work Location: Hybrid — Candidate should expect to be 80% onsite.
  • Interview Process: initial prescreen, followed by in person interview. The team will consider relocation candidates and will do a zoom if needed.
