Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Software Developer to help build and support the motion imagery software suite. You will work on systems and capabilities that enable intelligence workflows at the cutting edge.

The role requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph and a BS in Engineering with at least 5 years of related experience. Strong skills in Java, C++, React/Redux, SQL/NoSQL/Graph, and microservices are expected.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
• BS in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years as a Software Developer or equivalent.
• Experience with full stack technologies and modern architectures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support mission‑critical FMV software capabilities.
• Lead or contribute to microservice API development and integration.
• Deploy and manage containers with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Engage in data modeling with SQL/NoSQL/Graph databases.

Ensure the safety and security of our nation as a Software Developer at GDIT. You’ll apply the latest technology and provide operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community.

As a Software Developer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a Software Developer joining our team to support the development of systems and capabilities centered on our comprehensive motion imagery software suite. The Software Developer will focus on ensuring the mission is met while upgrading to cutting‑edge technologies in full motion video (FMV) of the programs technical vision.

HOW SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• The position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance

• A Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent 9 years job‑related experience

• 5+ years of experince as a Software Developer or relevant

• Java (AOP, IOC)

• Javascript, React/Redux, AngularJS

• SQL, NoSQL, Graph

• C++

• Kafka streams/ KsqlDB

• Experienced in Microservice API development and integration (gRPC/REST)

• Deploy micro and macro services in NodeJS or JBoss

• Manage communication endpoints in gRPC or REST

• REST based service level integration, API negotiation, Threading and Load Balancing

• Heavily use ETL concepts and engines to decouple solutions

• Creating and maintaining orchestration templates, modifying templates provided from unclassified teams into classified space

• GraphDB, SQL and NoSQL data modeling / visualization / querying

• MS SQL Server, OmniSci, Accumulo/Hadoop preferred

• Reactive application development in a web browser –

• Write and manage large applications in React/Redux, rxJS, Reactive Streams

• Manage and bug triage legacy applications in AngularJS

• Debug and troubleshoot applications in customer space

• Applications range from Java to C++ at priority determined by customer

• Leverage messaging engines and HA clusters

• Use and manage containers and orchestration such as: Docker/Kubernetes

• Creating containers, deploying containers, managing container orchestration

• Managing scalability of deployed software products

• Proven problem‑solving skills in complex environments

• Location: At Customer Site - near Tysons Corner

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Skilled at applying and executing highly advanced technologies, principles, theories and concepts

• Willing to learn in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields

• Proficient understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards

• Use JIRA to manage daily, sprint, and increment metrics, performance, and backlogs

• Experience developing within an Agile framework; Sprints, Demonstrations, Scrum

• Demonstrated ability to communicate issues, impacts, and corrective actions

• Demonstrated ability to easily and effectively communicate project topics to a diverse audience

• Demonstrated ability to clearly report relevant information

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate technology, process, and skill needs
