Job summary

TJ Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Software Developer IV) to support mission-critical cyberspace network operations. You will design and review software, implement static analysis, automated testing, and vulnerability assessment, and provide technical leadership across multiple projects in a high-security environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 7–15 years of relevant professional software development experience.
• Experience with secure software development practices and vulnerability remediation.
• DevSecOps experience across the software development lifecycle.
• Experience leading software architecture and technical decision-making.
• Experience with C/C++, Rust and other compiled languages; Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience working across Windows, Linux, macOS, or mobile systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical planning, design, development, integration, and lifecycle execution for complex software development efforts.
• Establish and enforce software development, security, coding, testing, and quality standards.
• Provide technical leadership on software architecture, system design, and development approaches.
• Implement and review static code analysis, automated dynamic testing, vulnerability assessment, and software assurance.
• Guide application and system integration with enterprise services and infrastructure.
• Design and deploy secure development environments using virtualization, containers, and infrastructure-as-code.

Position Description

Seeking a Senior Software Developer (Software Developer IV) to support the development and of mission- critical cyberspace network operations capabilities. This position will create and review software designs, implement static code analysis, automated dynamic software testing, perform code reviews, vulnerability assessment/reverse engineering, and software assurance activities supporting mission operations.

The Software Developer IV serves as a senior technical contributor, providing technical assistance across multiple development efforts and helping ensure solutions remain aligned with mission, security, and quality objectives throughout the full software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience developing and securing software in high-security environments and will provide technical leadership in software architecture, development practices, automation, and system integration. Active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance with a current, within 6 years,

Minimum/General Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, plus 7–15 years of relevant professional software development. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
• Expertise with secure software development practices, vulnerability identification and remediation, virtualization and containerization technologies, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and software assurance in high-security environments.
• Experience implementing static code analysis and automated dynamic software testing.
• Experience applying DevSecOps principles and practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated experience leading software architecture and technical decisionmaking.
• Experience supporting large- scale and/or mission- critical systems.
• Experience working across operating systems, development tools, and cloud platforms.
• Experience using C/C++, Rust, and/or other compiled languages
• Experience using Python and Bash scripting languages
• Experience programming for Windows, Linux, Mac, or Mobile systems

Functional Responsibility

• Provide technical planning, estimation, design, development, integration, and lifecycle execution for complex software development efforts.
• Establish, implement, and enforce software development, security, coding, testing, and quality standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on software architecture, system design, and development approaches.
• Implement and review static code analysis, automated dynamic testing, vulnerability assessment, and software assurance process results
• Guide application and system integration with enterprise services and infrastructure.
• Design and deploy secure, consistent, and reproducible development environments using virtualization, containerization, and infrastructure- as-code technologies.
• Advise development teams on the design and implementation of secure CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated build, test, security, and deployment processes.
• Identify and support remediation of software vulnerabilities throughout the development lifecycle.
• Promote DevSecOps best practices and integrate security requirements into development and deployment activities.
• Provide technical guidance to development teams and support technical decisionmaking across multiple mission efforts.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of software architecture, system design, and modern software development practices.
• Demonstrated experience with secure coding, software assurance, vulnerability remediation, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience working across operating systems, software development tools, virtualization/containerization technologies, and cloud platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and make sound architecture and engineering decisions for complex software systems.
• Ability to support large- scale and/or mission- critical software environments.
• DoD Manual 8140.03 (DoDM 8140.03) baseline certification required for the assigned role category.
• Active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance with a current, within 6 years, Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph required.
• Ability to work onsite daily in a secure facility; this position is not eligible for remote work.
