Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Software Developer for a hands‑on internship in Paarl, Western Cape. This program provides recent graduates with real software development experience in a supportive, mentoring environment that prioritizes learning and growth.

You will contribute to coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and feature implementation under the guidance of senior developers. The hybrid model blends in‑office collaboration with remote work, and interns receive a monthly stipend

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).
• Understanding of software development methodologies and principles.
• Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing software features under guidance of senior developers.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Assist in testing software components and identifying bugs.
• Contribute to documentation of software designs and processes.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Learn and apply new technologies as required.
• Support maintenance and enhancement of existing applications.
