Leidos is seeking a software developer intern to join the FS2 Aero team in the United States. The role focuses on designing and coding software solutions, gaining exposure to multiple languages, and contributing to open-source integrations in a web application context.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a bachelor’s degree, can obtain TS/SCI with a polygraph, and demonstrates strong communication and teamwork skills within an Agile, DevOps environment using GitLab, Jira, and Confluence.

• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
• Experience with JavaScript, Python, or C# development framework.
• Experience with web-enabled applications.
• Proactive self-starter with excellent communication skills.
• Experience in software development or software integration in cloud/SOA/web services or virtualization environments.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build software coding knowledge and modify existing GOTS code to integrate open-source solutions for a web display.
• Work with C#/Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Shell scripting.
• Create and document new and existing functionality in GitLab and apply DevOps practices in an Agile setup.
• Participate in Agile software development activities (standups, planning, increments) using Jira/Confluence.
• Collaborate to assess tickets and ensure testing and delivery per User Story Acceptance Criteria.

Description

The Leidos FS2 Aero team has an opening for a software developer intern to work on the design and coding with software solutions for the Aeronautical Navigation Office starting as soon as possible. The ideal candidate has a familiarity with and a baseline understanding of software development concepts, developing coding skills using different tools, and ambition towards future projects in support of the mission.

Primary Responsibilities

• Primary responsibilities will involve building software coding knowledge providing the system administration and modification of existing GOTS code to integrate open-source software solutions for display in a web application.
• This role will work with programming languages to include C#/Java and JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Shell scripting.
• Creation and documentation of new and existing functionality within software version control repositories (gitlab) and utilizing DevOps principals and tools to deliver new features within an Agile construct.
• Participate in program Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, Increment planning) to support applications through iteration/functionality utilizing Atlassian (Jira/Confluence).
• Participate and collaborate with team members to assess tickets to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree program.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
• Experience with JavaScript, Python, or C# development framework.
• Experience of working with web-enabled applications.
• Proactive self-starter demonstrates a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in either software development projects or software integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services) or virtualization environment.
• Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follow tasks to their logical conclusion and make sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail.
• Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.

Preferred Qualifications

• 0+ years of experience with DOD software requirements.
• 0+ years of experience working in a government cloud environment.
• AWS Solutions or DevOps certification
• Team Collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• DOD 8570 Compliant Certification (Sec+)

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
