Job summary

SimVentions is a 100% employee-owned company in Virginia seeking a Mid-level Software Developer with 5+ years of experience for on-site work 3–4 days a week at NSWCDD. An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required and US Citizenship is a must for access to classified information.

You will design modular software using Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript; build open APIs; design SQL databases; and apply CI/CD with Docker and Kubernetes in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Experience designing modular software architectures.
• Knowledge of open APIs and data access.
• Knowledge of database schema design and SQL.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Agile fundamentals.
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain modular software components using languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Develop standard, open APIs and scalable data interfaces to ensure data access and integration across systems.
• Develop database schema design and writing efficient SQL queries to support applications.
• Utilize CI/CD automation and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes) to streamline application deployment.
• Integrate open-source communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, gRPC, orWebSockets) and open-source mapping libraries (e.g., OpenLayers, Cesium) to projects
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, perform code reviews, and deliver completed software packages.
• Maintain the ability to operate within a cleared security environment and maintain security compliance.
