Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer for Navy/DoD deployments in the Charleston area. You will lead development, security analyses, and integration across Windows and Linux environments while ensuring system readiness and cybersecurity compliance.

You will work with GitLab, Jira/Confluence, and modern tooling to identify and fix issues, write deployment guides, and support fielded systems throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience with OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes containerization technologies.
• Strong development expertise in TypeScript and React.
• Advanced proficiency in Linux (Red Hat) and Windows operating systems.
• Skilled in JavaScript UI frameworks for modern web application development.
• In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevSecOps principles, GitLab, and the Open Systems Architecture (OSA) pipeline.
• Demonstrated experience designing and troubleshooting complex scripting environments (PowerShell, Bash, VBScript).

Responsibilities

• Lead development activities, version control, and task management using GitLab and Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence).
• Design, implement, and maintain secure code bases using Visual Studio and related platforms.
• Integrate and validate applications via the OSA DevSecOps pipeline for ACS/CANES deployments.
• Troubleshoot server communication, DNS, and AD issues across Linux and Windows.
• Perform dynamic and static code analysis with OWASP ZAP, Coverity, JFrog Xray; manage findings in CodeDX.
• Produce system documentation, workflows, and deployment guides for fielded environments.
• Provide advanced engineering support during deployment and sustainment with Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army teams.

Description

• Leading development activities, version control, and task management, leveraging GitLab and Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence)
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure code bases using Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and associated development platforms
• Integrating and validating applications through the OSA DevSecOps pipeline, ensuring operational readiness for ACS/CANES deployments
• Troubleshooting and resolving server communication, DNS, and active directory issues across Linux (Red Hat) and Windows environments
• Conducting dynamic and static code analysis using OWASP ZAP, Coverity, JFrog Xray, and managing security findings within CodeDX
• Writing and maintaining system documentation, technical workflows, and deployment guides in support of fielded environments
• Providing advanced engineering support throughout deployment and sustainment phases, working across Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army teams to maintain system effectiveness and cybersecurity compliance

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 2-4 years of experience with OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes containerization technologies
• Strong development expertise in TypeScript and React
• Advanced proficiency in Linux (Red Hat) and Windows operating systems
• Skilled in JavaScript UI frameworks for modern web application development
• In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevSecOps principles, GitLab, and the Open Systems Architecture (OSA) pipeline
• Demonstrated experience designing and troubleshooting complex scripting environments (PowerShell, Bash, VBScript)

Desired Skills

• Experience with Monorepos and/or Micro-frontend architectures
• Proficiency in Redux Toolkit and client-side persistence (IndexedDB/Dexie)
• Experience handling asynchronous data patterns, specifically WebSockets (STOMP) and Web Workers/Shared Workers
• Extensive experience with Navy testing frameworks, methodologies, and validation processes
• Expertise in TBMCS and JADOCS external interface dependencies critical to operational effectiveness
• Proven ability to create and sustain detailed technical documentation supporting system deployment and lifecycle management
• Advanced knowledge of server communications, DNS, and active directory, with troubleshooting expertise across Linux and Windows ecosystems
