Job summary

Cydecor is hiring a Software Developer in Reston, VA to work with the MARS Infrastructure Team. You will build secure software mainly with frontend technologies (Vue, JavaScript, TypeScript) and understand backend data sources.

The role requires US citizenship and offers hybrid work with mandatory on-site days in Reston. Responsibilities include designing, developing, debugging, and testing modern applications, collaborating with teammates, and ensuring code quality through reviews and tests.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing distributed software apps.
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks.

Job Description

We’re hiring a Software Developer in Reston VA to work with Cydecor’s MARS Infrastructure Team. As part of the Agile software development team, this role develops solutions mainly using frontend technologies, such as Vue, JavaScript, and TypeScript with a good understanding of backend services and data sources. The ideal candidate is familiar with the Agile software development life cycle from user requirement generation to automated tests and deployment. Due to the nature of the role, only U.S. Citizens may be considered.

Responsibilities include

• Design, develop and deliver modern secure software applications to enable the intel mission
• Troubleshoot defects, deduce root cause, and implement mechanisms to prevent reoccurrence and mitigate offshoot issues
• Professionally maintain all software and create updates regularly to address customer and company concerns
• Analyze and test code before merging and formal launch
• Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and client requirements
• Efficiently divide and conquer software development tasks with other developers
• Actively seek ways to improve business software processes and interactions
• Support grooming of user stories, breakdown development tasks and estimate level of effort

Here’s what you need

• 3+ years of experience as Software Engineer developing distributed software applications using modern and open-source technologies and frameworks
• Experience with frontend technologies, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue, React, and Angular
• Experience with Linux, Git, Jira, Confluence, and Artifactory
• Experience with: ESlint, Vuetify, Vue Composition, Vue Router, Pinia, TanStack, Axios, VitePress, and/or TypeDoc
• Deep understanding and experience developing frontend microservices
• Strong understanding and knowledge in API best practices
• Good understanding of relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience in Agile development technologies
• Experience developing secure software systems based upon industry specifications
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills are essential

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience in software development supporting DoD and/or IC
• Experience with frontend unit testing tools, such as Jest, Vitest, and Jasmine
• Experience with Python and Java
• Experience working with Webpack 5, Vite, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Jenkins, Keycloak, OAuth2, JWT, etc.
• Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS and Azure
• Experience developing customized code for multiple projects simultaneously

Security Clearance

• Interim or active Secret at a minimum with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent

Work Schedule

• Hybrid, telework is optional with mandatory onsite days during implementation and testing to support onsite tasks. Must live within commuting distance of Reston.

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000-170,000. There are numerous factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the role, work location, education/certifications, and a contract's Labor Categories.
