Job summary

Jaros, Baum & Bolles is seeking a Software Developer to join the Innovation team. This remote role will develop proprietary software for design and production, aligning BIM content with custom tools and AI models.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support in-house tools like Thrux and Autodesk integrations, and help evaluate third-party AI solutions. A Bachelor's in Engineering and 1–4 years of experience are required. Hybrid options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 1–4 years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of MEP systems with goal of proficiency within 6 months.
• Understanding of relational data.
• Familiarity with trade-specific energy and building codes.
• General understanding of the building design lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of Revit, ACC, Navisworks, and related platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platforms and related programming tools.
• Experience with computational design applications.
• Technical skills in C#, JavaScript, Python, CSS, WPF, XAML, Azure web services (Cosmos/Functions/AppServices), ASP.NET, Revit/AC API.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom solutions to enhance design and work process efficiency.

• Develop in-house AI models using CV, speech, NLP, ML.
• Ensure alignment between BIM content and custom software solutions.

• Develop MEP cross-trade collaboration logic.

About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer to join our Innovation team. This role will be remote. The individual will play a key role in the development and enhancement of proprietary software solutions that support design and production work.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop custom solutions to enhance design and work process efficiency
• Support the development of in‑house tools, including Thrux and custom Autodesk tools
• Evaluate third‑party AI tools
• Develop in‑house AI models using techniques such as computer vision, speech recognition, natural language processing, and machine learning
• Ensure alignment between BIM content and custom software solutions
• Collaborate with cross‑functional MEP engineering and Corporate Services teams to support workflow efficiency
• Provide technical support to end users
• Coordinate training on new products and features with the KM team
• Develop MEP cross‑trade collaboration logic
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Minimum Qualifications

• 1‑4 years of experience

Estimated compensation range: $120,000–$130,000 annual salary.
