As a Sr. Principal Softwa re Development Engineer in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructu re (OCI) Security Platform division, you will play a critical leadership role in the architectu re , evolution, and delivery of OCI’s Key Management Service (KMS)—a foundational cryptographic service that enables secu re key lifecycle management for Oracle's cloud infrastructu re and its c us tomers. This service is built to meet the high est standards for security, scalability, availability, and compliance.

You will lead technical initiatives across all layers of the KMS stack, from cryptographic hardwa re integration to distributed systems architectu re and operational excellence in large-scale production environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and strategic di re ction in building secu re , high -performance components and services that meet rigoro us enterprise and compliance re qui re ments.
• Lead the design and development of new featu re s and enhancements for KMS, including deep integration with Hardwa re Security Modules (HSMs) and support for encryption-at- re st across OCI.
• Define specifications and architectural designs for new projects, ensuring alignment with OCI’s security vision and cloud-scale standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high -quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions, ensuring tight integration with other Oracle services, such as Database, Storage Services, SaaS, and other OCI offerings.
• Drive end-to-end project execution, from technical re qui re ments and prototyping to implementation and production rollout.
• Champion engineering best practices, innovation, and continuo us improvement across the team—challenging assumptions and driving architectural excellence.
• Facilitate and oversee re al-world operational re adiness, going beyond simple API integration to ensu re full lifecycle management and secu re deployment at scale.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 - $251,600 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

• Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
