Job summary

Nova-Tech Engineering, based in Willmar, MN, is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, test, and document software for its automation products. You will collaborate with internal teams and industry partners to support Nova-Tech equipment and software.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience, with strong skills in databases, servers, and systems (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Azure DevOps/CI/CD).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with databases, servers, and systems including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Azure DevOps/CI/CD, IIS, Git, Windows, and Linux preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, test, debug, and document software for new and existing products, technologies, and applications.
• Diagnose software and system issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop effective solutions.
• Perform software programming, code reviews, system and server architecture, device communication, testing, and debugging.

• Participate in projects from concept to implementation and ongoing improvement.

• Participate in projects from concept and design through implementation, testing, customer placement, and ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, communicate project needs and deliverables, and support creative solutions.

What you'll do:

The Software Developer designs, develops, tests, and documents software for new and existing technologies and applications. This role collaborates with internal teams, customers, and industry partners to develop and support Nova-Tech Engineering's products and equipment while contributing to cross-functional problem-solving.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with databases, servers, and systems including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Azure DevOps/CI/CD, IIS, Git, Windows, and Linux preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to prioritize multiple demands, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.
