About The Role

This position is based in the Virtual Networking division, specifically within the Card Management team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports Oracle's highly available and secure Software Defined Network (SDN) systems. Your work will involve building cutting-edge technologies for a distributed fleet of embedded Linux systems, ensuring the robustness and scalability of Oracle’s cloud infrastructure. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software engineering with a focus on embedded Linux systems. Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Card Management team, your responsibilities will include:

• Developing expertise in embedded Linux and gaining deep hardware troubleshooting skills to support the deployment and maintenance of OCI’s SDN infrastructure.
• Designing and implementing new technologies for a distributed fleet of Linux systems, collaborating with hardware, OS, and platform teams to test and bring up new systems efficiently.
• Automating processes to improve operational efficiency across multiple regions, ensuring scalable and reliable deployment and management of network systems.
• Participating in on-call rotations to monitor fleet health, diagnose issues, and ensure high availability of critical network services.
• Enhancing operational capabilities by creating runbooks, developing monitoring and alerting tools, and automating routine tasks to streamline workflows.
• Supporting onboarding of new network technologies, managing deployment tooling, patching, and ensuring security compliance across the infrastructure.
• Engaging with cross-functional teams to support application integration and platform improvements, fostering a collaborative environment focused on innovation and excellence.
