Job summary

Leidos is seeking a software engineer with strong AWS, web tech, and API skills to design, develop, and modify core services and web applications. You will work in an Agile team, using GitLab, Jira and Confluence to track progress and deliver features.

The role requires proficiency in Python, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and REST/GraphQL APIs, plus containerization with Docker and deployments on OpenShift. A Top Secret clearance with SCI potential is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• BS degree and 2+ years of experience or MS with <2 years, or 4+ years of related experience.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities

The applicant must possess an understanding of core AWS services, like compute, storage and be able to develop and deploy cores services (Lambda, EC2s). C#/Java and JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, OpenShift, Shell scripting, Docker, React, Postgres SQL, GraphQL (and Apollo) and Prisma. This role includes creation and documentation of new and existing functionality within software version control repositories (gitlab) and utilizing DevOps principals and tools to deliver new features within an Agile construct. Participate in program Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, Increment planning) to support innovation and enhancement of custom applications through iteration/functionality testing utilizing Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) Primary responsibilities will involve using cloud computing expertise to provide the system administration and modification of existing GOTS code to integrate open-source software solutions for display in a web application. This role includes API development and database integration for interaction with Redux and React frameworks, using various open-source packages for visualization and data filtering and code modifications that shall apply best practices in unit and build testing. Participate and collaborate with team members to assess tickets to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria

Basic Qualifications

Active Top Secret with ability to obtain a SCI post hire Typically requires BS degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years; OR 4+ years of related experience. Experience with REACT or modern JavaScript framework. Experience with Python, C# development framework Experience with unit testing, continuous integration tools, and Gitlab version control Proactive self-starter demonstrates a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in either software development projects or software integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services) or virtualization environment. Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail. Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Developer Solutions Mindset At least 3 years of experience with Linux and/or Windows system administration At least 2 years of experience with DoD Aeronautical Datasets At least 1 year of experience with AWS cloud formation templates At least 1 year of experience with Node, NPM, REST API, Sass AWS Solutions, Developer, DevOps certification Team Collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence) Active TS/SCI with Polygraph DOD 8570 Compliant Certification (Sec+) #NSBA
