Dematic is seeking a passionate and innovative Software Developer to join our growing Software Execution team to develop, deploy, and maintain high‑availability applications in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop web‑based applications utilizing Java EE.
• Provide technical support to customers on‑site and train customers and key users on installed applications.
• Maintain good relationships with all internal and external customers through a high‑quality service.
• Operate in an Agile development environment while collaborating with key partners.
• Attend site meetings during software commissioning phases to ensure integration testing and site acceptance testing is completed as required.
• Make timely decisions even when faced with high levels of complexity.
• Analyze and solve complex problems.
• Travel 20‑30% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• 2+ years of software development and/or programming experience.
• Enthusiasm for software development and innovation.
• Understanding of relational databases.
• Knowledge or experience with concurrency and/or scalability.
• Advanced experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to multi‑task on a sustained basis.
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and oral.
• Proficiency in software engineering tools and ability to document requirements and specifications.
• 2+ years developing software with Java EE.

Preferred Skills

• Use of continuous development, integration and delivery tools (e.g., JIRA, Selenium, GitHub).
• Knowledge of application servers such as Wildfly and relational databases such as Oracle and MSSQL.
• Experience with Servlets, JSPs, EJB, GWT, and Web Services.
• Understanding of TCP/IP socket communication, RESTful services and working in a large enterprise environment.

Additional Information

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• 5+ years of software development and/or programming experience.
• Willingness to travel 20%-40%.
• Experience with industrial automation is a plus.
