Job summary

Zoox Inc. is seeking a Software Developer in Foster City, CA to design, develop, train and evaluate multi-sensor fusion based deep learning models for obstacle and environmental understanding in autonomous vehicles.

You will optimize latency, deploy models to the robot fleet, and collaborate across Perception with Prediction/Planner teams to tackle complex driving scenarios and rare obstacles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with multi-sensor fusion algorithms for object detection.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Java; familiarity with GPU architectures.

Job description

Software Developer w/Zoox Inc. (Foster City, CA) Design, develop, train and evaluate multi-sensor fusion based deep learning models to understand obstacles and environmental context for our autonomous vehicles. Perform latency optimization and deploy models to our robot fleet. Build a deep understanding of Perception gaps and behavioral issues around difficult obstacle types in order to help plan and prioritize our work. Collaborate with Prediction/Planner team to develop fully autonomous vehicles in environments with difficult and rare obstacles, extreme weather conditions, and complex driving scenarios. Help the Perception team build ovel architectures for classifying and understanding complex and dynamic city environments. Utilize sensor data for testing and validating algorithms. Create new algorithms for segmentation, tracking, classification, and high-level scene understanding. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field. Academic training or experience in the following: developing multi-senor fusion algorithms for object detection, GPU architecture; deep learning model architecture design; design models for segmentation; perform model quantization and deployment; and utilizing C/C++, Python, and Java.
