Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Developer to advance mission-critical applications hosted in the cloud. You will join the Enterprise Services team to modernize existing software, drive new initiatives, and ensure smooth deployments.

The role operates in an Agile setting, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business goals efficiently. You will design RESTful services in Java, build front-end interfaces with JSP/Knockout/jQuery, and optimize Oracle DB persistence.

Qualifications

• 5 years of REST API design and implementation with 4 years of experience with JavaScript frameworks (JSP, Knockout, jQuery).
• 3 years of experience with Oracle DB and Eclipse Link JPA; scripting with Shell and PowerShell.
• Experience in Spring Boot and Java development.
• Proficiency in SVN; JWT and YAML for secure data handling.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences.

Responsibilities

About the Role

The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team: We are seeking a Software Developer to support the development, enhancement, and deployment of mission‑critical applications hosted on the cloud. In this role, you will contribute to the modernization of existing applications, drive new development initiatives, and ensure seamless production deployments. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software solutions.

What You Will Do

• Develop, enhance, and maintain cloud‑hosted applications to meet business and technical requirements.
• Implement and manage REST APIs and backend services using Spring Boot and Java.
• Develop user interfaces utilizing JavaScript frameworks such as JSP, Knockout, and jQuery.
• Perform database design, development, and optimization using Oracle DB.
• Apply Eclipse Link JPA for data persistence and manage version control using Subversion (SVN).
• Utilize JWT and YAML for secure data handling and configuration management.
• Write and maintain scripts using Shell and PowerShell for automation and operational tasks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to interact with functional resources and explain complex technical concepts in a business‑like manner.
• Occasional travel may be required to support business needs.

Qualifications

• University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• 5 years of experience with REST API design and implementation with 4 years of experience with JavaScript frameworks, including JSP, Knockout, and jQuery.
• 3 years of experience working with Oracle DB and Eclipse Link JPA with scripting experience with Shell and PowerShell.
• Experience in Spring Boot and Java development.
• Proficiency in version control systems such as Subversion (SVN).
• Experience with JWT and YAML for secure data handling and configuration.
• Ability to interact with functional resources and explain complex technical concepts in a business‑like manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MAVEN for project management and build automation and knowledge of SOLR/Lucene for search functionality and indexing.
• Familiarity with browser security concepts and best practices.
• Experience with Maria DB for database management and proficiency in JUnit for unit testing.
• Knowledge of Angular for front‑end development.
• Experience with Git and GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD pipelines.

Location

This position is remote. Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). The employee may be expected to travel to the Santa Isabel site location as needed.

Salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
