Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration BU in Huntsville, AL seeks a DevOps Software Engineer to contribute to the Ground Weapons System program and deliver dependable software for defense systems.

Applicants must hold a current Secret clearance, have DevOps experience, and be proficient in Python or C++, with Atlassian tools; relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• B.S. in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience; or M.S. with 6 years; or PhD with 4 years.
• Active in-scope US Government Secret clearance required to start.
• Experience with Atlassian tool suite and Git/Bitbucket.
• Experience in a DevOps environment.
• Ability to decompose open-ended technical problems into action plans.
• Experience in modeling/simulation software or debugging complex systems.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C++, ADA, or JAVA.
• Experience with OO design/SOLID or patterns.
• Must be able to support an in-person/closed-area work environment.

Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for DevOps Software Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL .

Position Overview:

The selected Engineer will support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor responsible for providing technical contributions and guidance to software products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

This requisition may be filled at multiple grade levels based on qualifications (All levels).

Basic Qualifications:

• STEM B.S. Degree (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 8 years of relevant experience; M.S. with 6 years of relevant experience or PhD with 4 years of experience.
• Applicants must have a current active in-scope US Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite and software version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket
• Experience working in a DevOps environment
• The ability to neutrally assess and decompose open-ended technical problems into action plans with defined success criteria
• Experience developing modeling and simulation software or debugging complex software systems
• Experience with languages such as Python, MATLAB, C++, ADA, or JAVA
• Experience working with Object Oriented Design, SOLID design principles, or software design patterns
• Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting missile defense programs such as GWS
• Experience performing root cause analysis (on software systems) or forensic software analysis
• Active Security+ certification

Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
