Software Dev Engineer II, Denied Party Screening, Onboarding Tech

Job ID: 10524051 | Amazon.com Services LLC

The DPS Onboarding Tech team is responsible for building and operating the technology that powers client onboarding into Amazon's Denied Party Screening (DPS) ecosystem. Our team owns the end-to-end technical onboarding journey, from client intake and data enrichment to pre-processing and screening configuration, ensuring that new businesses and populations are integrated into DPS accurately, efficiently, and at scale. We are currently driving a major system unification initiative to consolidate fragmented onboarding workflows into a cohesive, scalable platform that reduces business onboarding time and increases ecosystem adoption.
We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) to join our Onboarding Tech team within DPS. In this role, you will design, build, and operate distributed systems that enable seamless client onboarding into DPS screening services. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and system design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational excellence, while collaborating closely with onboarding program managers, compliance stakeholders, and partner engineering teams.
Key job responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable services that support client onboarding, data enrichment, and pre-processing pipelines for DPS screening workflows
  • Drive system unification efforts by consolidating legacy onboarding tools and workflows into a unified, extensible platform
  • Own and operate production services with a focus on availability, latency, and operational excellence (on-call rotation, runbooks, alarming, and monitoring)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with onboarding program managers, compliance teams, and upstream/downstream service owners to define requirements and deliver solutions
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers (SDE I) on the team, contributing to code reviews, design reviews, and engineering best practices
  • Contribute to the team's technical roadmap by identifying opportunities to improve system reliability, reduce onboarding friction, and automate manual processes
  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code in alignment with Amazon's engineering standards and security best practices
