Amazon Inc. is hiring a Software Development Engineer for the Leo Customer Terminal Software team. You will design, develop, and deploy embedded software across Project Leo devices, participating in all SDLC phases from requirements to deployment.

The role emphasizes real-time embedded systems, Linux/RTOS expertise, and cross-team collaboration with hardware, product, and operations to deliver a reliable customer experience.

Competenze

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for Customer Terminal devices within the Project Leo system.

A day in the life

As part of our Leo Customer Terminal Software Team, you will design and implement embedded software used in the Project Leo products. You will work in a collaborative environment with teams inside and outside of Amazon. You will craft your software from requirements, designs, code, test, to product deployment. You need to be flexible and responsive to changing priority issues.

About the team

The Leo Customer Terminal Software Team supports the devices that connect our customers to the Leo network. We provide software for both applications and the underlying Linux system. We work hand in hand with hardware, product and operations teams to deliver a great experience for our customers.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
