Job summary

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is seeking a Software Design Services Intern to support the Information Services department. The role offers 15–20 hours per week for six months, with a project-based internship aligned to skill level and business priorities.

The intern will gain experience across software development, requirements gathering, design, documentation, and testing, while contributing to real-world systems in a brewery environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a CSU, Chico or Butte Community College student majoring in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new concepts and methods.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain existing software systems.
• Gather requirements from users for new development and existing projects.
• Design and develop software solutions to meet requirements.
• Prepare and present software solutions.
• Document code for internal use and end-user best practice.
• Participate in software code reviews.
• Document and categorize existing software and automation systems, identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Perform unit and end-user testing of new software development.
• Must be able to work at least 15–20 hours a week.
• Regular attendance is essential to the position.
• Check-ins with supervisor to stay aligned on priorities and progress.
